Applications
Viscosity Reduction – In response to an enquiry a solution was developed to transport heavy crude oils in pipe lines. This involves reducing the viscosity of the crude oil using a Hydrogel formula.
Water Control - Hydrocarbon production costs increase dramatically if significant volumes of water are produced along with oil or gas. Hydrogels show "selective" behaviour, naturally seeking out water producing zones and avoiding oil zones. Selectivity provides the opportunity to place gels using the low-cost "bullheading" technique without damaging formations. This water control application of the hydrogel technology seeks to extend the life of oil and gas wells, and improve production efficiency where water ingress is a problem.
